Special Prosecution Unit
Sexually Violent Predator/Juvenile Division
Opening available for a prosecutor in the Sexually Violent Predator and/or Juvenile Divisions of the Special Prosecution Unit. The Special Prosecution Unit prosecutes all crimes that occur in and on the property of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and the Texas Juvenile Justice Department, as well as cases involving the Civil Commitment of Sexually Violent Predators pursuant to Section 841 of the Texas Health & Safety Code. All three divisions travel the state assisting District Attorneys’ offices with these specific cases, so travel is required. This position will expose you to both civil and criminal law.
