
Driver Safety Course Qualifications
Driver Safety Course Dismissal (DSC)
A person shall be given notice by the court of the person's right to successfully complete a driving safety course (DSC) when charged with a misdemeanor offense committed while operating a motor vehicle, [Art.45.0511 (p), V.A.C.C.P.] this right does not apply to the following offenses:

passing a school bus
-
construction zone with workers present
Qualifications for requesting driver safety course (DSC):

Must have valid Class C Driver License; does not apply to an offense committed by a person who holds a commercial driver's license (CDL) or who held a CDL when the offense was committed. [Art. 45.0511 (s), V.A.C.C.P.]

has not completed an approved DSC within the 12 months preceding the date of the offense.

is not currently taking a DSC for offense

was not exceeding 24 miles over the posted speed limit

was charged with traffic moving violation
