Point of View of a Dispatcher
WCPSCC's Telecommunicators answer all 9-1-1 calls, and all non-emergency calls with the exception of those that originate from the SHSU Campus. They dispatch and/or coordinate response of all Public Safety agencies minus the University's Police Department. The position of Public Safety Telecommunicator is one that demands a strong set of communication, prioritization, decision making, and multi-tasking skills.
