Emergency Management operations in Walker County are conducted under the direction of the County Judge. The Walker County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is responsible for administering a comprehensive emergency management program designed to reduce the vulnerability of our communities to injury, loss of life, property damage, and other impacts.
This program focuses on a coordinated approach to MITIGATION, PREPAREDNESS, RESPONSE, and RECOVERY from both natural and man-made disasters, ensuring Walker County remains ready to effectively respond to and recover from emergencies.
