Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC)

H-GAC partners with counties, cities, and state agencies to coordinate regional efforts in transportation, public safety, and emergency preparedness, strengthening collaboration and resilience across jurisdictions.

Serving Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Colorado, Galveston, Harris, Liberty, Matagorda, Montgomery, Waller and Walker Counties.

The Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) leads the state’s emergency management efforts, working closely with local jurisdictions to support planning, training, and coordinated response and recovery operations.

The Texas A&M Forest Service supports wildfire response, incident management, and all-hazards emergency operations across Texas, working alongside local and state partners to enhance preparedness, coordination, and response capabilities.

The Texas Department of Transportation partners with local and state agencies to maintain critical transportation infrastructure, support evacuation planning, and coordinate roadway operations during emergencies to ensure safe and efficient movement of the public.
