Texas Veterans Commission has awarded 2 grants to Walker County.
1. Housing for Texas Veterans, which will allow repairs, modifications, or weatherization of up to 5 Walker County Veterans or Surviving Spouses.
2. Financial Assistance, which will help up to 120 Walker County Veterans or Surviving Spouses with Rent/Mortgage, Utilities, and Groceries.
These programs are supported by a grant from the Texas Veterans Commission Fund for Veterans’ Assistance. The Fund for Veterans’ Assistance provides grants to organizations serving veterans and their families. For more information, visit www.tvc.texas.gov.

Services Available:

 Veterans can request their DD-214.

  1. Help Veterans file for their Service-Connected Disabilities Claims with the VA
  2. Help Surviving Spouses file for surviving spouse benefits.
  3. Provide Resources for financial aid.
  4. Information on Home loans through the Veterans Land Board and the VA.
  5. Information on Education Benefits and the Hazelwood Act.
  6. VA Death Benefits.
